Frequently Asked Questions
Are there stairs?
All 3 guest rooms are on the second floor so there is one flight of stairs to get to all rooms. There are 11 steps up to front door but only 2 steps coming in the back door.
Is there parking?
Yes. Beside plenty of free street parking in front of the house and on side streets, there are 3 spaces for guests behind the house.
Are you flexible with check-in and check-out times?
Absolutely! Standard check-in time is between 4:00 and 7:00. I can usually accommodate early check-in and can always accommodate late check-in. Please let me know.
What if I need to check-in really late or if you’re not there?
If a guest needs to check-in late or when I’m not home, I send my guests a code to the back door and instructions how to check themselves in.
What is your cancelation policy?
I give a 100% refund to guests who cancel one week before their stay. Plus I can be flexible. Please call as soon as you know your plans have changed.
Why should I book through your website?
Booking directly with me instead of a third party website gives me more control over your reservation. Communication is more direct and changes or cancelations are easier.
Are there places to eat nearby?
Lots! Check out my restaurant page.
What if I am traveling without a car?
Both Uber and Lyft operate extensively in St Louis PLUS there are 3 different bus lines a short walk from the house. The Metro website or Google Maps can help you get around via mass transit.
Is a refrigerator available?
There is a small refrigerator in the Thomas Hart Benton suite but all guests have access to a refrigerator in the kitchen. It’s good for storing leftovers, getting ice, or grabbing a complimentary water or soft drink.
Are there TV’s in the rooms?
Sorry, no. When I first opened I had more guests let me know they were glad there was no TV in the room than were looking for one. There is a large TV in the living room common area. It receives HD antenna television; major networks and lots of other stations. Plenty of DVD and Blue Rays are available too.
What is there to do in St Louis anyway?
Lots! Here are just a few links.
